A Blog about Marco's Experience with a Rare and Aggressive Cancer
surviving 3 under 5 said:Marco was blessed with an enormous support group as he went into City of Hope. We as his family had these rally monkeys to hold onto as he left our side. Thank you to Mama Salt and Pepper & Maweewee for spending so much time, energy ,care and love in making these rally monkeys that brought us together as Marc's rally team. As the Wife's sister, I thank you all for being there to sit with her and be so supportive. It is really special to see that she was never alone. I know she is very lucky to have you all on her rally team too.
One day at a Time said...Could not have said it better than surviving 3 under 5. We are very relieved to know that the surgery went well. We are very happy to see that Marcus is now up and around (and I do apologize a million times for hugging Marcus a little too hard). Last thing we want is for Mr. Marcus to endure anymore pain than he has to. Sorry:( Thanks to the Wife and to everyone that was there during the surgery and the days of his recovery.
The rally monkeys gave us comfort and support because seeing Marco off to his surgery was not easy. We had our rally monkey with us. Also everyone who was there The Wife, DLP, Machini, Surviving 3 under 5, Salt N Pepper, Grandpa P, JC, Tio J, mama m, ODAT, were so supportive and uplifting. When he left to his surgery I had something to hold onto. The hope that everything was going to be ok was represented in the rally monkey. I appreciate the time, patience, and care the Wife and Salt N Pepper took in making the rally monkeys. Thank you to all who visited Marco at COH and for the prayers and thoughts sent from far away. This means a lot to us. Thanks to the Wife for always going above, over, and beyond. We love you and appreciate that you are there for our brother.
I would like to thank Salt n Pepper for all the love and hard work to get these wonderful looking rally monkey done in time for Marco's surgery. I was very happy to see that these monkeys did wonders for us. I especially liked that Marco said he liked them right before he was wisked away into surgery. Everyone seemed to be doing and thinking the same thing to have put all of our emotions onto this rally monkey. When I first came up with the idea , my goal was that this monkey would help in some way or another bring an ease to the next steps in our journey. Our rally monkey brought a smile not just to our family but to everyone who saw the monkey traveling around COH. The smiles we got during our stay at COH and the comments was amazing, that in it self was rewarding. I have been thinking of putting a name on our rally monkey. I want this name to be a symbol of our journey with cancer. One of the names that have been brought out would be "Sarlun Cer" by putting sarcoma lung cancer but still it doesn't feel like this should be the name of the monkey. I want it to mean something to all of us and have it represent Marco and his battle with cancer and yet i don't it to have the name of the cancer that has turned our lives upside down. I want it to be special and unique like Marco is. I want everyone to please help in naming our rally monkey. Put your ideas down and put it in the blog with the name and why you would choose this name. I will have Marco choose from the list on Friday, May 9th and I will post it on the blog. So, I would like to thank you all again for being there for us.we love you all!!
I WAS SURPRISSED TO SEE,THE IMPACT THAT THE MONKEY BUSINESS MADE, AT THE COH; BUT: WHAT REALLY GOT ME WAS; THE COURAGE, AND THE HUMOR ON YOUR BEHALF,TO TAKE EVERYTHING, AND TO LOOK AT IT, ON THE BRIGHT, AND SUNNY SIDE.DON'T EVER GIVE-UP, REMEMBER THAT WE AND MICKO,(YOUR MONKEY)AND HIS BROTHER SARMICKO, AND ALL OF THEM, W'LL STAND BY YOU ALLWAYS.WITH LOVE: UNCLE J.
