May 23, 2012 DLP graduated from HHS. Its was an amazing feeling to see our little girl recieving her diploma. We have come a long way and have tried to maintain a "normalcy" for the kids during Marco's treatments at COH. Letters were always sent to all the teachers at DLP's school as well as Machini's. We were grateful to have great teachers who understood or tried to understand what are family was going thru and helped in getting independant study homework for the kids while we were at the hospital. Our main concern was to maintain the kids education on course without them falling behind.
Marco was so proud of the kids, he was always amazed of their bravery and how well they would deal with the unfairness in life and yet showing us that they could deal and accomplish anything that life thru their way. He said he knew they would be okay because they are strong. I told him that's because they had him as an example.

DLP was able to get all her work done and turned in after Marco passed away. Her hard work and determination paid off in the end and was able to maintain her grades. Alot of tears and sweat but she made it to the finish line.

Tears fell off my face seeing DLP waiting in line with the rest of the her classmates to be called up to recieve her diploma. To see her smile from cheek to cheek and then turning around and doing the princess wave as she glided down the stairs was DLP's signature move....lol we all loved it.

DLP will be headed out to UCSC in September were she will start out her college career in Business. She hopes to start her own non-profit organization to help families that are dealing with this horrible disease called cancer.  So they are able to travel with their loved ones and cherrish memories with family.

We love you DLP and we are very proud of you, all your accomplishments and hard work. You have a great head on your shoulders and the world better watch out!

Congratulations DLP! You, your mom and dad, and Machini are special people. I was reading back on what your mom wrote about your dad being an example of strength, bravery, and how you show courage in the face of adversity. You will do great things in this life to help others.
